Understanding our Eating Disorder Services
Our services combine clinical excellence with care and compassion. We are a multidisciplinary team that understands the complexity of eating and body image difficulties and the importance of individualised care. Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or a loved one, our team provides a clear and supportive route into specialist care.
Multidisciplinary Team
Here at The London Centre we have a range of health professionals, who are all specialists in treating eating disorders and trained in evidence based treatments. The specialist nature of the clinic and the experience of our team also means that we are able to offer a broad variety of treatment approaches and therapies.
Intensive Outpatient Programme
Our Intensive Outpatient Programme bridges the gap between standard outpatient therapy and more intensive day or inpatient care. It offers structured, one-to-one input from our multidisciplinary team – including psychology, dietetics, occupational therapy, meal support and psychiatric support – without the need for full-time admission.
This programme is designed to provide focused, consistent care for those needing a higher level of support.
Clinical & Counselling Psychology
Our Clinical and Counselling Psychologists specialise in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders, body image concerns, and co-occurring difficulties. Using evidence-based therapies such as CBT-E, MANTRA, Schema Therapy, DBT, ACT, CFT, EMDR, SSCM, and Family-Based Therapy, we create a personalised treatment plan aligned with your goals and values.
Weekly sessions offer a structured, supportive space to explore emotions, thoughts, and behaviours around food, weight, shape, self-esteem, and wellbeing, helping you develop healthier coping strategies and meaningful, lasting change.

Psychiatry
Our Consultant Psychiatrist offers comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, and ongoing medication management where appropriate, for clients aged 15+. Psychiatric support ensures medical and psychological safety and integrates closely with the wider team to guide treatment planning and risk management.
Dietetics
Our specialist eating disorder dietitians support clients to rebuild a flexible, sustainable, and balanced relationship with food. Their work includes nutritional rehabilitation, exposure support, normalising eating patterns, and strengthening confidence around food choices. Dietitians collaborate closely with therapists and psychiatrists to ensure joined-up, holistic care.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy helps clients regain confidence, structure, and independence in day-to-day life. Sessions focus on meaningful routines, self-care, social and occupational functioning, transitions, and developing practical skills that support recovery and autonomy.
Family-Based Treatment
Family involvement can play a vital role in recovery. We offer specialist family therapy approaches designed to support parents and carers in understanding, responding to, and helping their loved one through recovery.
Recovery Counselling
Recovery counselling offers a compassionate, future-focused space to explore motivation, identity, and resilience throughout the recovery journey. It is offered on an ad-hoc basis, as and when needed, helping to bridge the gap between structured psychological intervention and life beyond therapy. This support can be particularly useful for maintaining progress, navigating challenges, and sustaining healthy coping strategies in daily life.
